Our Founder

Devon Corbin is a natural networker. He is not afraid to meet new people from all different walks of life. During his professional career he has learned that meeting people “Where they are,” is more than a suggestion, but a choice. He can say this came from his parents both being entrepreneurs.

He also serves as the Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UNCF. Coming into the organization less than a year ago, he became the Director for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, support HBCU student founders and centers.

.

At the E-Suite, Devon works with individuals to help them understand all the elements of the Entrepreneurial journey. The focus is to provide foundational steps for founders looking to start a business.

Helping others has always been Devon’s passion. Prior to Year Up, Devon spent over decade in different sales roles spanning from IT, Retail and door to door. He found he could merge his two passions of sales and social change by training the next generation of how to navigate these environments.

Devon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with honors from Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina

He also holds a Master of Education degree with honors from the University of Pennsylvania

“Imagine what the world is missing simply because people do not have the support they need to launch their dreams. I hate to think of such a great loss. We need the diversity that a robust entrepreneurial community brings. This is analogous to the need for Hollywood to have diverse actors of all experiences and identities. The art suffers if there are not actors from varying background to capture the human experience. Similarly, without creating access for entrepreneurs, the world is missing out on the genius of others.”
